Usual country of residence if currently living in USA but citizen of India

Hi @Anil_Gupta in PR application (I have started filling application and i believe we can update any information later as well ?)

  1. for identity docs we can put Aadhar + SSN both and down there on other docs can put US DL
    is that correct ?
  2. For below information we need to put details of parents and siblings correct image
  3. Duration of oversees employment (I believe here they mean experience outside Australia in our case will include India + US exp) ?
    image
  4. everywhere in duties i am mentioning what we have mentioned in form 8 (from ur other link)
    image
is this much sufficient or we need to copy paste from resume.
  5. currently we are in US – therefore usual country of residence will be US correct and other countries lived will be India ?
that means permanent address in India will be as per passport
    – for my wife after marriage till we left for US
    – for me since birth till we left for US

189 PR identify documents for Indian citizen living in USA

Yes, you can give Aadhar card and SSN (from USA)

Non-migrating members

You can add your parents or siblings details here but I do not recommend it. If you do add here, they might also be asked to take health examination.

You will also need to fill same information for relatives in form 80. There you can fill parents and siblings information.

Duration of Overseas employment if working in USA

Yes, duration of Overseas employment means employment outside Australia.
This means any employment in India or USA or any other country except Australia.

Employment duties

Just give a small brief about each employment. You can copy paste the content from your resume.

Usual country of residence if currently living in USA but citizen of India

Yes usual country of residence will be USA if you have lived in USA for more than 6 months in last 12 months.

Thanks and if its late you can answer me tomorrow as well. I hope we can update the application later, I will keep posting all my questions here so that others can be benefited too

Hi Anil,

If I specify US as the Usual Country of Residence, do i need to mention all the addresses where i lived in India in my 189 application for the question : Have any of the applicants lived in a country other than the primary applicant’s usual country of residence??

Regards,
Ankita

Yes, you need to provide your Indian stay addresses as well even though your usual country of residence is USA.

The Indian addresses would only be needed if you stayed there for more than a month though.
