US Legal Status Proof when EAD card start date is in future

Hello All (@Anil_Gupta),

I am planning to apply for passport renewal in december.
For US legal status proof, I plan to provide my EAD card. The start date on it is from feb 2021. Will it be accepted as a valid document given the start date?
I contacted VFS and got 2 different answers on different attempts.

Any advice?

Usually, any document should be valid on the date of application.

I don’t know if VFS or Indian embassy will have any different rule or exception for your case.
