Transit Visa for Frankfurt with expired US H1B Visa

I am planning to travel to India from DFW - FRA - BAH - MAA. I have an expired US H1B visa. Do I need a transit visa for Frankfurt? Has anyone travelled from US to Frankfurt to Bahrain with an expired US visa this year (2022)?
