Skills assessment requirements for claiming spouse points

(Sujata Mali) #1

I want to claim spouse’s 5 points in 189 PR visa for Australia. My husband being the primary applicant. I want to claim it in accountant category. My question is do I need to have skills assessment? And what are the requirements for skills assessment?

Yes, skills assessment is required for spouse to claim spouse points.

The assessment requirements depends on what ANZSCO code is chosen by spouse.

Thank you Anil for your prompt response. My husband’s and mine occupation is listed in MLTSSL.

Good. Then you should be able to claim spouse points.

Did you check your total Australia SkillSelect points using this calculator:
https://apps.truvisa.com/australia/skillselect/

(Sujata Mali) #5

Yes. It’s 65 points. If we could claim points for me then it will be 70.

(Anil Gupta) #6

Great. The calculator has spouse points checker as well. You can verify if you really qualify or not.

Actually I checked it. Just have doubts about my skills assessment. Regarding my University transcripts, do I need to notarize those documents before upload?

(Anil Gupta) #8

Yes, as I already answered earlier, all documents need to be notarized.

(Sujata Mali) #9

How to get those notarize? I mean where can I get them notarized?

(Anil Gupta) #10

Did not you notarize documents for your Husband (primary) applicant?

If you are in India, notary is available outside courts easily.

Oh ok. We are checking first, if we could get 5 points for me. As we need to score 70.
Thanks for your help.
