Is H1B transfer needed for moving to different subsidiary within the company?

Hi Anil,

I have been FT with one of the top 3 banks since 2016(after my masters).

My employer filed a h1b transfer + extension, because of some internal reorg on Oct 15th (receipt date, went to California center) and I have been working in my new role since.

My current visa expires on July 2019. Should i be worried processing times (7.5-10 months).

I have moved internally to a different org, and my responsibilities have changed.

The HR told me that they talked to the internal immigration lawyers and decided that H1b transfer is needed.
This has happen to almost everyone else who had internal transfers with my employer.

Ya… the average processing time at California is about 8.5 months.
