Indian PCC sent to India for police verification

I applied for PCC today at indian consulate here in Houston, USA. They said the application will be send to india for verification. My address in passport is different than permanent address (different states). No one lives on my passport address.
My question is

  1. will there be physical verification. If Yes which address ?
  2. How much time will it take?
  3. Do i need to do anything from my behalf now?

No Police Verification is done at Indian Address

Normally, no police verification is done. Indian passport office sends the report based on their last police verification done at your address and other police records.

Indian PCC processing time if sent to Indian RPO

Normal processing time: 4-6 weeks.

The time varies depending on how fast the Indian RPO (Regional passport Office) responds to Indian Embassy request.

Contact Indian RPO to expedite Indian PCC request?

You cannot directly contact Indian RPO. There is no action required from your side either.
You do not need to do anything except wait and watch :).

Indian embassy will do all the follow up with Indian RPO on their own.

I am in the same situation as you, my PCC was sent to Indian RPO for PVR (Police Verification Request)

It takes about 4-6 weeks if the verification request is sent to Indian RPO.
