Indian passport re-issuance with VFS

Hello,

I’m a green card holder residing in the US, and have a few questions about “Re-issuance” of Indian passport under the new VFS process. Can anyone with experience with VFS help?

  1. My current Indian passport expired in September 2020. Will I need to submit any special additional documents with my application because of this?

  2. Is a police verification of an address in India mandatory even if I choose not to print an Indian address in my new passport?

  3. How long does the renewal process take once I mail all documents in, and how much does it cost?
