In case of F1 rejection, will my existing H4 status will also be canceled?

Hi,

I am currently on H4 visa and would want to change of status to F1 due to the uncertainty of H4 EAD. I need some information on attending F1 Interview at US consulate.

Do I need to attend F1 interview at only Home country?. Can I attend nearby countries like Canda for F1 interview?.

On the other side of the coin, in case of F1 rejection, will my existing H4 status will also be canceled?.

Kindly suggest.

Thank you in Advance
Satish

You can go to Canada for visa stamping.

If your F1 is denied, your H4 is not affected.

Apologies asking for the same question again Will Mexico also allow to Attend F1 Interview ?.

You are so generous and helpful to the immigration community.

Did you read the linked article?
It clearly says that change of status stamping is NOT allowed in Mexico.

When i link something, it is a good idea to read it to find answer yourself to save both your and my time.

I only link when there is an answer for your question.
