H4 Extension stuck with biometric appointment due to COVID

Hi,

Employer filed my h1 extension got approved till 2022. My wife’s H4 extension got stuck with biometric appointment. Current I-94 validity till July 10th.

I am more worried when USCIS field office will open while WA stay at home order is in effect.

  1. Is this considered as H-4 extension in processing?
  2. Should we call ASC for emergency appointment?
  3. Should we plan to go outside country and comeback?

You are not alone. Hundreds of H4 extensions are currently waiting for Biometric appointment.

You can legally stay in US while Extension is pending with USCIS even after i94 expiry.
