H1b Consular processing vs change of status

Hi All,

My wife is currently in India who has her h4 visa stamped. she will be coming to US in August, recently her H1b has been picked, If her H1b is filed while she is in India and if she comes back to US in August before her H1b is approved does she has to go to consular processing once her H1b is approved or Can we file change of status from US once her H1b application is approved?

You can file H1B amendment and convert consular to change of status. Talk to her employer’s immigration attorney.
