My current H4EAD is valid till 1st May 2019, can I apply for a renewal as of today. Would I be eligible for a renewal at this point of time. Please let me know
You are allowed to file for H4 EAD renewal 180 days before expiry.
Plan it the way that your application reaches USCIS right on 180 day before expiry and you should be good.
But I read on other posts where people application was rejected by USCIS as the period was withing 4 months from the time of expiry
Yes, I know about it that USCIS rejected some applications with RFE saying you cannot file before 120 days of EAD expiry.
But, the official EAD renewal rule says that you can apply 180 days in advance. So, i still recommend filing as early as possible as the waiting time 5+ months at this time.
